IWILL DVD266-R   The first report.

At the beginning....

I visited IWLL's information web site.
The motherboard "DVD266-R" gave a big feel to me.
I think that I'd like to get data from a DVD266-R motherboard quickly.
I wonder if I get the motherboard,
I want to set about the preparation immediately.

Is that the truth !? or.....

Supports up to 4G Bytes DDR SDRAM.
It's very important things for workstation users.

On board RAID Controller and Sound chip may be cut off by H/W jumper.
It's very important things for Over Clockers.
etc...

If it can,
I want to OverClock!
I want to use for  "The WorkStation"


I got a motherboard at last !!

First,
I try to make installing of hardware and Operating system.
I installed basic system.

CPU           FCPGA Pentium iii 700M(SL45Y) * 2
Cooling FAN TaiSol
Memorys Crucial DDR-SDRAM PC1600, CL2, 128MByte *3
           Crucial DDR-SDRAM PC2100, CL2.5, 64MByte *1
           Total 448MByte
HDD     IBM DTLA-307020 ATA100 20G byte

Generally, sometimes there is a problem only in this work,
but DVD266-R motherboard is installation ending without being in the trouble.

I try to kill onboard RAID and Sound systems (^^;.

It was very easy for us, only move jumper switches.

I try to OverClock!!

We can set FSB and Vcore voltage on BIOS.
FSB can set 66MHz to 200MHz by 1MHz step.
(I tested 66MHz to 144MHz)
Vcore voltage can set 1.3V to 2.05V by 0.05V step
(I tested default voltage to 1.9V)

Can I install RAID drive?
I attached HDD to the RAID drive from the primary IDE drive.
It looks like a no problem.
Because It started up with no problem .

But It needs a lot of testing step by step.
I have to test of RAID0 (Mirroring).
The mode is very important for WorkStation users to safety.

Can I install full of PCI cards?

I try to make install of these cards.

AGP Millennium G450

PCI2 Sound BLASTER live!
PCI3 Tekram SCSI DC315U
PCI4 Promise FastTrack100
PCI5 melco Modem OGM-PCI56KH
(On board RAID Controller and Sound chip was cut off by H/W jumper.)

The result was very good without trouble !
